BERGHAMMER COMPLETES ADDITION TO ST. MARY’S VISITATION PARISH
December 26, 2008 – Elm Grove, WI –Berghammer Construction Corporation has recently completed a 6,000 SF atrium addition to St. Mary’s Visitation Parish located at 1260 Church Street, in Elm Grove, WI. Work on the addition was completed for the church to open for Christmas services. The addition to St. Mary’s School will be completed in late January of 2009.
The 6,000 SF church addition features a kitchen, library, new restrooms and a gathering space. Skylights along the roofline and expansive windows on the north and west walls were incorporated to bring natural light into the interior. The design was created by Plunkett Raysich Architects, one of the largest full-service design firms in Wisconsin.
“Design and construction coordination played a critical role to ensure that the integrity of the original church design was properly incorporated into the addition,” said Tiffany May, project manager at Berghammer. “The arched wood laminate structure of the existing church was duplicated in the addition to create a continuous space.”
